Sunday June 5th 2005
Charlotte took part in 2 major concerts on the same day
Charlotte at the Reading "Summer XS" concert
Charlotte at the Southampton "Power in the Park" concert
At both concerts Charlotte sang 2 songs including her hit "Crazy Chick"
I don't know about you but to face one crowd of 40,000 people would be more then enough for me for one day

This is the first review of Reading's Summer XS from a local newspaper.. [ All thought it's good to read newspaper coverage of a Charlotte concert, what would be really great is to have a review from a true Charlotte fan. ] Monday 6th June 2005 XS MADNESS THOUSANDS of pop fans beat a trail to Madejski Stadium yesterday for an afternoon of chart-busting acts. The overcast sky and occasional drop of rain could not dampen the excitable spirit of the 10,000-strong crowd, which was treated to a feast of talent. McFly kicked off the extravaganza at around 2pm and more than four hours later the stage had been graced by some of the country’s top acts. Radio station 2-TEN FM’s Morning Crew introduced Blazin’ Squad, Charlotte Church, Chesney Hawkes, Melanie C, Craig David and Rooster. Also enjoying the show was Royals chairman John Madejski. He said: “It is a great event and it is always good to see the young people of Reading enjoying themselves. “It was especially nice to meet the lovely Charlotte Church. I think Bananarama were my favourite because I remember them from my younger days.”
Harry, from McFly, said after coming off stage: “It was a really rocking performance. The Reading crowd was fantastic.” It was Welsh songstress Charlotte Church’s first visit to Reading and she was bowled over by the noise from the crowd. She said: “It is good to be in Reading, the crowd is so loud and everyone seems to be having fun.
“I’ve been past Reading a million times between home and London so it is cool to stop off for once.”After Busted, Blue and Blazin’ Squad attracted a crowd of 20,000 last year, the Mad Stad was far from full, but the verdict from the crowd streaming out after the show was that it was a fantastic day out. Mark Sugar, 17, of Tilehurst said: “I’ve had a lot of fun, it is a great event and good for Reading. I thought Rachel Stevens was the best because she is fit.”
Elli Harris, of Twyford, was dancing with her five year old daughter Millie. She said: “We had a great time, lots of dancing and singing along to the tunes. Millie loved McFly and was really overjoyed to see them.”
Becky Hawkins, 13, of Lower Earley, said: “McFly were brilliant. We’re having a great time.” www.getreading.co.uk/story.asp?intid=12143
